Danfoss IXA produces sensors for measuring ammonia and other harsh gases and the 1,500 visitors to this major award show were impressed by the new gas sensor technology. Lesa Mitchell, the Vice President of the Kauffman Foundation, which is behind the Global Entrepreneurship Week of which the awards were a part, referred to Danfoss IXA in her opening speech and continued: "There is more Cleantech in Denmark than anywhere else."
Henrik Gedde Moos, President of Danfoss IXA, would have liked to have been the winner, but he was pleased with the effort, and the benefits of having taken part in the competition in the USA.
"The team is proud to be among the three best start-ups within Cleantech. Also, we have gained many good contacts here in the USA which we intend to follow up on," he says.
First place went to Puerto Rico, whose algae-energy project made the biggest impression on the judges. USA – just like Denmark – was in top three.
